Software-Defined Hardware: Enabling Performance and Agility with the BIG-IP iSeries Architecture

A Whitepaper by F5 Networks, furnished by ADAPTURE (an F5 GUARDIAN Partner)

A number of BIG-IP devices have reached EOL/EOSL status, as designated by the OEM. F5 maintains generous life cycle policies that allow customers to enjoy many years of both support and new software releases. Customers whose platforms are designated End of Life (EoL), and who are currently under maintenance contracts, will continue to receive technical support until the expiration of the service contract renewal date. But customers are encouraged to upgrade their systems before the service contract renewal date expires.

F5 recently announced the release of its next-generation BIG-IP iSeries ADC platforms. The new line boasts some key features, including:

  • TurboFlex™ Performance Profiles: ADC, Security and Private Cloud profiles optimize performance by offloading selected functions to an FPGA
  • ECC/SSL Forward Secrecy Scaling: Improve app performance by offloading and accelerating cipher and key exchange processing
  • Accelerate Private Cloud Deployments: Reduce time to deploy with native orchestration capabilities
  • Infrastructure Consolidation: Consolidate your application and security services infrastructure to reduce TCO up to 53 percent
